Music Enchanted in Wood Festival – Kwiatoń

Lemko churches in Kwiatoń
The Małopolska Tourist Organisation would like to invite you to another concert taking place as part of the Music Enchanted in Wood Festival. This time, we are going to meet in the Uście Gorlickie municipality in the Gorlice district. One of the most beautiful Lemko churches in Poland will host Paweł Ruszkowski – an artist associated mainly with solo work in sung poetry. As a musician, he is open to all kinds of inspirations and experiments. In his compositions, he draws upon jazz, American and British folk and classical music. He is passionate about the art of arrangement.

He composed several dozen pieces, illustrating   poems by Polish poets, with first ones created when he was 16 years old.
In 2016 he independently produced his first album Ars poetica. A year later, he released his second album – Kamiszczi, which featured more than ten unique poetic songs in the Kashubian language, arranged for a jazz-folk quintet. November 2018 saw Paweł's third release – a single featuring the  Lilije suite composed to fragments of Adam Mickiewicz's ballad for voice, jazz trio and cello.

The concert will take place in the interior of a beautiful Orthodox church decorated with polychromies with figural and ornamental motifs from 1811, and with complete furnishings, including an iconostasis made by M. Bogdański in 1904, the main altar from the 19th century in the presbytery, two side altars featuring the icons of Madonna and Descent from the Cross. The church was listed on the UNESCO List of Cultural and Natural Heritage in 2013.

Admission to the concert is free! See you on the Trail!

The “Music Enchanted in Wood” Festival is organised as part of Measure 6.1 Development of cultural and natural heritage, Submeasure 6.1.2. Organisation of cultural events, of the Regional Operational Programme of the Małopolskie Voivodeship for 2014-2020.
