Open Wooden Architecture Route - we open 74 new sites!

Cerkiew w Kwiatoniu
Summer holiday is upon us and it brings new attractions to tourists who will have access to the new premises of the Wooden Architecture Route in the Małopolska Region.

Thanks to the decision of the government of the Małopolska Region regarding allocating financial resources for the realization of the project "Open Wood Architecture Route", the Małopolska Region Tourist Agency will this year open the gates of 74 historic sites! Local tour guides who know the histories of the sites and premises better than anyone will be waiting there for tourists ready to tell the interesting stories and passionately share their knowledge with the visitors.

The most numerous group of wooden historical sites opened to the public as part of the Open Wooden Architecture Route is composed of sacral buildings representing different ages and architectural styles as well as Greek Orthodox churches present on the territory of Beskid Sądecki and Beskid Niski. The trail features also secular architecture, which in this year's edition of the project represents charming manors in Laskowa and Świdnik.

The most precious treasures on the Route that are also featured on the prestigious UNESCO World Heritage Sites include: churches in Lipnica Murowana, Dębno Podhalańskie, Śekowa and Binarowa as well as Orthodox churches in Brunary Wyżynne, Kwiatoń, Owczary and Powroźnik. These temples are accessible throughout the year.

The lovers of wooden architecture and those who are only now discovering the beauty and huge value of these historic sites, are kindly welcomed to the Open Wooden Architecture Route.

See you at the Trail!
